Our Services

Companionship Care

It’s no secret that being able to do the things you enjoy is good for mental and emotional well-being. Whether that’s playing board games, doing a spot of gardening, or visiting the local shops, our companionship service can help you to continue doing the little things that mean a lot.

Getting out and about can feel a more daunting experience if you have faced a change in health or perhaps don’t feel as steady on your feet as you used to. Leaving the house may become a task that you don’t feel up to facing alone, leading to feelings of isolation and loneliness. Our support workers will accompany you on outings of your choice, helping you to feel confident in accessing the community and continue doing the things you love. Whether this be a walk along the seafront, visiting a café for a spot of lunch, a trip to the garden centre, or going to the theatre, our team can make all the necessary arrangements, such as booking tickets and transport. We celebrate your individual preferences and work with you to come up with suggestions of outings we think you’ll most enjoy.

Our companionship service of course doesn’t have to involve leaving the house, we are aware that for some of you this may not be practical or even overly appealing, after all we all love our home comforts! Our support workers are more than happy to spend time having a natter over a cup tea, playing games, helping you to organise your wardrobe, whatever it may be! The focus of our companionship service is for you to feel comfortable and confident in whatever it may be that you enjoy doing.

Household Tasks

Living in a clean and tidy home can really help to improve overall wellbeing. Having peace of mind that the jobs on your (sometimes never ending!) ‘to do list’ are being taken care of for you, can certainly take the weight off your shoulders.

There can be many reasons why these tasks aren’t quite as easy as they once were or fall to the bottom of the priority list. You may be recovering from an operation, be experiencing some mobility difficulties or just have an awful lot on your plate! When your ‘to do list’ just keeps getting longer and longer it can feel overwhelming and stressful.

Household tasks doesn’t have to mean just cleaning. Although our support workers are happy to get stuck in with the ‘nitty gritty’, you may need assistance with sorting through letters, arranging appointments, doing the washing, caring for your pet and more. Sometimes having a helping hand is all that you need to feel organised and up to date with things.

We can help with any of these tasks on a regular basis as part of your ongoing plan of care, (for example once weekly) or you can call on us as and when needed. Whether this be a couple of times a month, or when things really need some attention once or twice a year, as always, the choice is yours!

Nutrition & Hydration

Maintaining a healthy diet and having plenty of good fluids is fundamental to sustain good health. Having tasty meals you enjoy can be something to look forward to, but the thought of preparing them can feel like a task that is just a bit of bother at times. Our support workers can help you prepare all types of meals, with the level of their involvement dictated by you. From purchasing all the ingredients needed and preparing the meal from scratch, to heating an already prepared ready meal you love, or making a sandwich with your favourite filling, our support workers are happy to help.

We cater for all different dietary requirements and preferences, and work closely with you and your loved ones (if appropriate), to ensure we have this information recorded in detail so that we can prepare your food safely and make delicious meals you will enjoy!

Our team receive specialised training in food safety, nutrition and hydration, and how to support those with conditions such as Diabetes, or swallowing difficulties, for example those who have been referred to the SALT team. The continual training our staff receive also enables them to support you to maintain a healthy balanced diet with sufficient fluid intake, helping to prevent problems such as urinary tract infections which can lead to falls and possible further complications.

The support you receive with your nutrition and hydration is tailored to you. Eating and drinking well can make you feel great and help to maintain optimum health. Our team can help you to feel your best, all while eating the right type of foods you enjoy, making each meal one to look forward to!

Personal Care & Medication Management

We understand that it can feel overwhelming allowing other people to help you manage your personal care needs. Often, accepting the need for help can be tough, as it means giving up a level of your privacy. This however does not mean your dignity, comfort or preferences should feel compromised. This is why we take extra time in carefully recruiting support workers, ensuring that all of our team possess the skills and character required to ensure you feel comfortable at all times, providing you with not only physical but emotional support too.

Our experienced staff will work closely with you to form a plan of care. From helping you into and out of bed, to assisting you with continence needs and washing and dressing, you have complete control over the care you receive and how and when you receive this. You may feel you require assistance once each day in the mornings, or several times throughout the day, our staff are on hand to help as little or as often as necessary. Our support workers deliver care in such a way that promotes your independence, helping you to live a fulfilled life in your own home. Whether you require minimal assistance such as fastening tricky zips when dressing, or full assistance to mobilise using specialised equipment, our support workers can help.

Medication management can become tricky, especially if you are prescribed multiple medications, new medication, time sensitive medication – the list goes on! You may feel that you wish to continue administering your own medication, however, would benefit from our staff prompting you when your medication is due, or would rather that our support workers are responsible for administering your medication so that you know that this is taken care of for you. Our team can also help with delivering and re-ordering medication. Whatever level of assistance you feel you would require, we will discuss this with you in detail to ensure that the support given is tailored to your needs and preferences, giving you comfort that you will continue to receive your prescribed medication safely.

We hope you will take comfort in knowing that it is our priority to invest in our staffing team. They are given comprehensive induction training and receive regular refresher and additional training to ensure that they continue to deliver the highest quality of care.
