September is World Alzheimers Month

September is World Alzheimer’s Month, a time to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, challenge misconceptions, and show support for the millions of people affected around the world. This year, the campaign theme is surrounding the importance of a timely and early medical diagnosis. Over the course of this month we will be posting about Alzheimer’s and dementia across our Facebook and Instagram to join 1000’s of others in raising awareness.

Dementia can have a profound impact not only on the person living with it, but also on their family, friends and loved ones. As memory, communication and independence can gradually change, families may find themselves navigating new challenges, emotions and responsibilities. Yet, alongside the difficulties, there can also be moments of connection, compassion and love.

World Alzheimer’s Month is about understanding, awareness and support. It encourages us to learn more about dementia, recognise the experiences of those living with the condition, and make sure that people and their families do not feel alone. By starting conversations and breaking down the stigma surrounding dementia, we can help create a more understanding and supportive world for everyone affected.

Keep your eyes peeled, as part of our awareness campaign, we will be running a giveaway on our social media pages on Monday 21st September, which is World Alzheimer’s Day! By entering you will be supporting Alzheimer’s charities and be in with a chance of winning a prize for yourself too!
